Liveris’ 40-year Dow career began in Asia, where he rose to serve as President of all Asia-Pacific operations. An award winning advocate for the criticality of manufacturing to the long-term health of national economies, Liveris was foreign Co-Chair of the 2012 China Development Forum and is a former Chair of the U.S.-China Business Council. He sits on the Board of Directors of IBM, is Vice Chair of the Business Roundtable, an Executive Committee Member and past Chairman of the U.S. Business Council, and a member of the U.S. President's Export Council, the Concordia Leadership Council and the Australian government’s Industry Growth Centres Advisory Committee. He serves as a trustee for the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, California Institute of Technology and the United States Council for International Business. Under Liveris’ visionary leadership, Dow opened a world-class innovation center in Shanghai and has partnered with Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to create Sadara, the world’s largest integrated chemical complex ever built in a single phase. Sadara is expected to deliver high quality products and services to customers across fast growing Asia Pacific and other nearby regions starting this year.
